My
method of keeping bettas is not radically different from most other betta keepers.
I dont have a fish room but intend to build one in my garage soon. For now I
have around 20 tanks in a spare bedrom. My females are kept together in a 20
gallon tank my males are seperated in 1 gallon tanks. The female tank has a
home made filter and the male tanks are unfiltered. I always have water that
is being aged and swap the males over into completely new water every 2-3 days
depending upon how busy I am. The male tanks are kept in another tank which
i have built myself which measures 3 feet by 2 ft by 5 inches. This means i
can keep lots of males with just one heater. I then have lots of small tanks
which i use for breeding ranging in size from 12 x 8 x 8 - 12 x 10 x 10. I always
put the female in first for a day to get her used to the tank. When i introduce
the male the female is either put into a jar or in a seperate compartment buillt
into the tank.
